Fourteen Reasons to Keep Cats Indoors

1. Cats are less likely to be hit by a car when crossing the living room than when crossing the street.

2. You’re less apt to have fleas, ticks, fungus, rabies, feline leukemia or Fip in your house (which means fewer immunizations and trips to the vet for your cat).

3. You’re less likely to bite them than the neighborhood dogs, stray animals or coyotes are.  Animal bites can abscess and even kill your cat.

4.  When it's 10PM, you will always know where they are – no more neighbor complaints about mid-night serenades.

5. Birds (and bird lovers) will like them better.

6.  There are cat nets, leashes, and runs that can allow your cat to play in the grass without risk. Walls and fences won’t keep them safe, but there are many products that will.

7.  They will never come home looking like something the cat dragged in!

8.  You’ll never have to bail them out of the local pound (if you’re even able to find them there).

9.  They sleep most of the time anyway.

10. They won’t be chased by dogs or mis-treated by whatever animal-haters that may wander through the neighborhood.

12.  You won’t have to go calling all over the neighborhood for them when it's time for dinner.

13.  You won’t find dead, dying, or dismembered small animals and birds on your doorstep.

14. They will live longer, happier, healthier
